"Janny" is part of my experimental series "101 Ways I See You"
Handmade from a dark brown high fire clay. I first rolled a slab, and formed the base of the mask. When it was sufficiently dry, I covered it with blue slip and carved into the piece to let the black clay make an appearance. Parts of black clay show through for artistic effect.
There is a hanger built into the back of the piece. You slip wire or string through for hanging. This piece is made from 100% clay and can stay indoors or outdoors. With all ceramic pieces, you will probably want to bring it inside if freezing temperatures are predicted.
